Okapi supports all common protocols used to manage IP addresses in a network. It supports Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) which can be used to assign/track IP address in a network. It automates the configuration of computers that use TCP/IP. DHCP can be used to automatically assign IP addresses, to deliver TCP/IP stack configuration parameters such as the subnet mask and default router, and to provide other configuration information such as name servers. The DHCP relay feature relays a request from a remote client to a DHCP server for an IP address. Okapi has dns server, which can be used to assign domain names to the machines in the network and can also act as a dns forwarder.
